MIP Solutions, Inc. (MSOL.OB) – Making Pollutive Mining Processes Better for the Environment

In the mining industry, the costs associated with handling contamination (otherwise known as environmental remediation efforts) during the extraction process can be staggering. MIP Solutions offers relief in that area, through its patented ‘molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP)’ technology. Basically, this patented process enables the targeting and capture of specific molecules in hazardous contaminants and/or valuable metals, and then the release and recycling of these end products. This allows processed material to be reused, recycled or sold, turning potential environmental liabilities into profits.

The process was developed in part by scientist Glen Southard at The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory. Dr. Southard is a founding member of the MIP Solutions’ board of directors, helping to form the company after having obtained exclusive commercial rights for the MIP process.

Dr. Glen Southard graduated from the University of Michigan in 1998, with a Ph.D in inorganic chemistry. He was instrumental in the pioneering of molecularly imprinted polymer technology and realizing its potential for commercial application. Dr. Southard currently acts as MIP Solutions’ Director of Technology.

MIP enjoys the benefits of a shrewd financial team as well. President Jeffery Lamberson was a successful financial advisor from 1990 to 2001, at which time he founded JML Consulting, through which he advised both public and private companies. He is a founding shareholder of MIP Solutions, and took the role of president in 2007.

The Secretary/Treasurer of MIP is another financial advisor-turned-director. Edward Hunton joined Jeff Lamberson at JML Consulting in 2002, and subsequently became another founding shareholder of MIP Solutions.

MIP Solutions, Inc. is on the fast-track to revolutionizing the filtration and mineral extraction markets. According to Heather Curran, technology and marketing manager at The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory, “There are tremendous possibilities for molecularly imprinted polymers that are attracting a lot of attention. We are looking for commercial partners with a clear focus, strong leadership and commitment. MIP Solutions is one of those companies.”
