Minatura Gold, www.minaturagold.com – the US-based mineral exploration firm with developed infrastructure in Colombia that takes a micro-ecosystem, community-building approach to setting up mining operations, today reported favorable preliminary results on the recent independent sampling done at the Anori Project.
The Company anticipates releasing all data on the entire re-sampling program later this month and will put more resources into the Anori Project based on the strength of final analysis.
The 17,736-acre Anori Project is an agglomeration of contracts and claims 110 miles NE of Medellin in the Department of Antioquia, Colombia, which sits adjacent to a host of artisan gold mines with historically proven reserves.
Formed in May of this year, the Anori Project is a joint venture in which Minatura and affiliate Minatura International LLC own an 86% participation that is contingent upon third-party evaluation of the 1,517 acres contributed to the JV by the Company.
Previous analysis and sampling (reported May 11, 2010) confirmed five anomalous areas bearing gold mineralization with gold assays ranging up to 112.45 g/t (grams of gold per tonne) over 1.6 meters near Anori, and 39.03 g/t over 1.0 meters at the four other identified areas.
Recent data was generated by Watts, Griffis and McOuat (WGM), the geological and engineering consultancy retained by MGOL to compile the data and handle planning and budgeting for initial programs in the region.
WGM culled 49 samples and supervised the collection of an additional 56 by the Company’s geological team. All samples were first sent to an SGS sample prep facility in Colombia before being distributed to separate SGS labs in Toronto and Peru (WGM and MGOL respectively).
SGS represents the industry standard for inspection, testing, certification & verification services, and analysis at both laboratories is being executed with surgical precision:
• 32 element ICP 14B using aqua regia digestion and an AES finish
• AU FAA 515 package for all samples on a 50gm aliquot
• All samples greater than 5,000 ppb rerun using FAG 505 package standard
