Microvision, Inc. (MVIS) Awarded $750,000 Contract to Support Development of HD Eyewear Display

Today, Microvision announced that it has received a $750,000 contract to perform engineering tasks that will support development of a High-Definition, full-color- see-through eyewear display. For confidentiality reasons, the customer’s name was not given.

The new eyewear display platform will combine Microvision’s miniature PicoP display engine technology with clear eyewear optics that channel light and direct it to the viewer’s eye to create a see-through image, allowing the user to be aware of his/her surroundings. The platform is expected to further stand out from competition by offering attractive ergonomics and ease-of-use.

Ian Brown, Microvision VP of Marketing and Sales, stated, “Customers are seeking new ways to deliver real-time, mission critical information. We believe Microvision’s PicoP-enabled eyewear technology could provide competitive advantages for these customers due to its inherent qualities of high-brightness, compact form-factor, full-color and see-through clarity.”
