BAE Systems is Transferring Micromem Technologies Inc.'s (MMTIF.OB) MRAM Patented Technology

Micromem Technology Inc, a company focused on the development of magnetic random access memory (MRAM) technology, announced that BAE Systems, a premier global defense and aerospace company delivering a full range of products and services for air, land and naval forces, is in process of transferring the MRAM and sensor technology to its Nashua New Hampshire foundry facility. BAE Systems is planning to complete the modification of Micromem’s technology over the coming months.

Joseph Fuda, Micromen’s President and CEO, said, “This partnership is the ultimate technical validation that Micromem has been looking for. To partner with a global leader such as BAE Systems is the ideal situation for Micromem and the successful productization of our technology. The vast array of applications that BAE Systems can facilitate through its client base will fundamentally change the face of the company and its future.”

Micromem’s patented submicron nano-sensor technology can facilitate and boost highly accurate magnetometer sensor and over-the-horizon danger detection solutions for applications in homeland security and defense force safety. The technology can also be used in a lot of other areas, such as providing early detection and pre-failure weak-parts identification in product manufacturing. The intrinsic low-power characteristics of Micromem’s technology make it highly useful in a variety of new applications, and essential in mechanically unforgiving environments such as those encountered in the aerospace and automotive sector.
