Recent mandates by the Chinese government, instituted as a result of a June 2010 industrial accident involving manual removal of oil sludge in which 6 workers died, have created massive demand for the now-required automated cleaning technology.
President and CEO of LNDT, Mr. Jianzhong Zuo, characterized the timing of this strategic alliance with System Kikou as ideal, and suggested that, as the exclusive Chinese partner of a global leader like System Kikou, the Company is optimally positioned to beat out competitors who face the same challenge.
The alliance dovetails exceptionally well with the existing business as well as relationships with other partners like Poyam and DeltaValue, because not only does the technology help to protect workers and save lives, but it also protects the environment while vastly improving efficiency.
Sludge in such storage tanks is often caused by, or exacerbated by, excess water in the oil, and builds up via solidification/gelling of oil, leading to huge problems if it is not regularly addressed with cleaning or maintenance.
By automating this process entirely, LNDT aims to satisfy the mandates while improving its bottom line, resulting in greater return on investment to the Company’s shareholders.
