Law Enforcement Associates Corp. announced today that they will be the title sponsor for the 12th annual Wake Enterprises golf tournament to be held September 23 at the Lonnie Poole Golf Course at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC. The 7,210 yard, 18 hole, par 71 golf course opened last year and was designed by the world-renown Arnold Palmer Design Company. This is the second consecutive year that LEA will be sponsoring the golf tournament.
Wake Enterprises, Inc. is a private, nonprofit organization committed to the vocational and social development of adults with developmental disabilities. Wake is focused on assisting people with disabilities to achieve their maximum level of independence.
President and CEO of LEA, Paul Briggs stated in the press release, “We felt that last year’s event contributed a great deal to the organization. A lot of money was raised for Wake Enterprises, the weather cooperated, and all the golfers appeared to have a great time.” Regarding Wake, Mr. Briggs commented, “Wake Enterprises is an organization that benefits those with disabilities by providing them independence along with benefiting the local community. This golf tournament helps the organization raise necessary funds for training and other costs so they can keep providing quality service to its participants and local businesses. We feel honored to be associated with such a quality organization that provides an invaluable service to the community.”
From a business perspective, LEA has been seeing success recently with several large orders of their surveillance equipment. A police department on the United States and Mexican border recently purchased approximately $200,000 worth of audio and video surveillance equipment and another in agency in New Mexico purchased Scorpion micro DV™ video camera for every one of their approximately 650 officers. The Scorpion Micro DV is one of the smallest digital video camera in the world with high resolution imaging and is the focus of a marketing push by LEA that emphasizes the benefits of having a digital video recorder as part of standard equipment for officers while on duty.
In April, the Company began marketing their proprietary Portable Remote Viewing Systems (PReViewS by aidVISION™). The PReViewS is a small, low power unit allowing law enforcement personnel to consistently view high quality, low latency, real-time video, regardless of bandwidth available. The system can be controlled using a PC or Windows mobile compatible smartphone and allows for multiple users to remotely view and control video utilizing narrow bandwidth.
For 40 years, LEA has been a leading U.S. security and surveillance technology company that manufactures and markets a diverse product line to the worldwide law enforcement, military, security and corrections markets. LAWE is a low outstanding share/low float stock. We confirmed that the outstanding shares are still approximately 25,500,000 with a float of approximately 12,500,000.
