i2Telecom Intl., Inc. (ITUI.OB) Highlighted for Innovation Inside Technology Exec Magazine

MyGlobalTalk, an Internet-based long distance service for cell phone customers of any company, was prominently featured in a longer article about i2Telecom International (OTCBB: UTUI). MyGlobalTalk is set to be launched, Sept. 10.

“Research explains that VoIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) is technology that is optimized for the transmission of voice via the Internet or other packet-switched networks,” wrote Kevin Doyle, co-author of the article with Amber Sweeney. “The term VoIP is often used abstractly to refer to the actual transmission of voice as opposed to the protocol implementing it. Regardless, it is the next big thing and, though not well known by the general public, i2Telecom is a recognized industry leader.”

The front-page article also discussed the Atlanta, Ga. company’s USB so-called softphone — VoiceStick. The company says this product “affords the user the portability of VoIP by enabling the user to call any phone or VoiceStick customer from anywhere in the world.”

The company sold the patent for $6.5 million, but retains rights to its worldwide use. CEO Paul Arena, said in the article that i2Telecom has a dozen more patents pending “that are going to be worth a lot more.”
