HyperSolar, Inc. (HYSR.OB) Gains Attention of Media Concerning Light Magnification Layer

HyperSolar, Inc. announced yesterday that Scientific American posted an article titled “Solar Panel Film Increases Efficiency 300%, Cuts Costs in Half” spotlighting HyperSolar’s innovative value proposition for cutting the cost per watt of solar energy. The article originated from CleanTechnia, a popular blogging community whose cleantech-related articles are often syndicated to top-tier media outlets. Zachary Shahan authored the article.

Scientific American is the oldest continuously published magazine in the United States. They have been bringing their readers insights about developments in science and technology for over 160 years.

Additional coverage of HyperSolar, Inc.’s magnification layer includes an article by Karl Burkart of Mother Nature Network titled, “Solar goes Hyper in the U.S.” This article was also posted to Forbes.com’s “Eco-centric” blog, in addition to dozens of cleantech web sites.

Mother Nature Network provides environmental news to “Improve Your World”. They have a goal to provide the most accurate and up-to-date news and information available from environmental topics to social responsibility issues.

Karl Burkart explains in the article, “as the U.S. government continues to heap billions in subsidies to the world’s wealthiest coal and oil companies, the solar industry has been struggling to make it in the United States. This is sad for many reasons, not the least of which is that we’re missing out on one of the biggest growth industries in the world.”

Mr. Tim Young, CEO of HyperSolar, Inc., said, “Karl made a compelling point that solar has the potential to create an industrial revolution of sorts that will fuel job growth and economic prosperity. HyperSolar will contribute to this uprising by giving solar panel manufacturers the option to use fewer cells in their panels.”

Headquartered in Santa Barbara, California, HyperSolar, Inc. is developing a breakthrough technology that magnifies the power of the sun to increase the power output of solar cells significantly. The Company (using innovative photonics and low-cost manufacturing processes) is developing the world’s first thin and flat solar concentrator for standard solar cells. Applied on top of solar cells, the low-cost HyperSolar concentrator can increase solar cell power output by as much as 400 percent. Manufacturers can use significantly fewer solar cells in the production of solar panels as well as dramatically reduce the cost per watt of solar electricity through using the HyperSolar concentrator.
