Hybrid Technologies, Inc. (HYBT.OB) Receives Key Contract to Supply Lithium PT Cruiser to the U.S. EPA

Hybrid Technologies announced this morning that it has been awarded a contract to provide its advanced lithium PT Cruiser model to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The vehicle was selected because of its zero-emissions, high capacity, rapid charge time and overall functionality for the EPA’s Near-Road Air Quality Study.

The EPA’s Office of Research & Development (ORD) will use the PT Cruiser to study air pollutant concentrations alongside major roadways, which could be a health concern to people living and working nearby. The zero-emissions vehicle enables EPA’s research because mobile air quality measurements can be conducted without fear of “self pollution” as with all mobile sampling platforms powered by internal combustion engines.

Holly Roseberry, President of Hybrid Technologies, Inc., stated, “We are very proud we were awarded this contract as we feel that working with ARCADIS for the EPA is of great importance to our company. The emissions study, as well as the feedback we will gain through ARCADIS from the EPA regarding our Production Lithium PT, is highly significant. We look forward to developing a long-term relationship with EPA.”
