Hybrid Technologies, one of the premier lithium-ion powered vehicle manufacturers of today, is located in a small town just north of Charlotte, North Carolina. Over the past few weeks, the region has been hit hard with gas shortages; panicked drivers running on fumes, mile-long lines, and even pump-side fights and arrests have been the order of the day. Shipments slowly began to arrive on Monday, but indeed a lasting impression was made.
It was a wake-up call for many people in this fast-growing southern city, who never quite took the time to realize the extent of their dependency on gasoline and the potential for trouble should they find that there was none to fill their tanks. In times like these, companies like Hybrid Technologies and the products that they offer are beginning to look considerably more attractive to the residents of Charlotte, and everyone else as well.
Hybrid converts traditional gas-powered models to fully-electric, zero-emission vehicles of the future. The company has received national exposure, most recently having been featured in the NASA Launchfest at the Goddard Space Flight Center in Maryland earlier this month. Hybrid’s celebrity sponsor, famous TV actor Alan Thicke, has bought an electric vehicle from the company and is one of its biggest advocates.
One result of the recent gas shortage has been a healthy increase in interest in electric vehicles. Hybrid Technologies is certainly a company to observe, as more and more people are beginning to see the many values of terminating their own personal dependency on gasoline.
