Hybrid Technologies, Inc. (HYBR.OB) – An Energy Hungry World Needs the Electric Car

No matter where you look, you see the effects of $115.00-dollar a barrel oil. The local gas stations are charging $3.57 a gallon for regular gasoline, and diesel fuel is well over $4.00 in most of the U.S. Heating oil this past winter was a massive burden on the middle class, and all of this expensive oil is “leaking through” to cause inflation at the very core of our economy. Just about every product we buy is shipped for the final miles via truck, and they all use hydrocarbons for fuel. The truckers are passing that cost to the buyers, who have no choice but to raise prices on finished goods. It’s a horrible cycle, not to mention the fact that every drop of oil we burn puts “some” amount of carbon pollution into our ecology.

Various studies have proven that if we could get the problem of battery technology solved, we could literally wean ourselves from 90 percent of our consumption of foreign oil, and this would also relieve a lot of the tensions we feel concerning terrorism. Because most of our imported oil comes from countries that aren’t terribly friendly towards us, supply disruptions are a constant concern. The idea that terrorists could use oil to “hold us hostage” plays deeply into our National Security Agenda.

This is where Hybrid Technologies Inc. shines through as a true practical solution to so much of our energy situation. Hybrid (which trades under the symbol HYBR.OB) was incorporated in Nevada in 2000 and is focusing its resources and efforts on the development and marketing of lithium-powered vehicles and products for commercial and residential properties. Everything from scooters, bicycles, mopeds, motorcycles, cars and homes are being converted successfully to zero-emission, lithium power.

So, is the age old problem of battery technology solved? For all practical purposes, the answer is yes. Hybrid’s proprietary technology has produced lithium ion battery packs that can now fuel an electric vehicle at highway speeds for an incredible 120 miles, and yet will recharge via a standard household outlet overnight. Considering that the average person generally travels less than 30 miles each way on any given day, Hybrid has now made the electric car practical.

Practical is one thing, but how about fun, sporty, fast, exciting, and attractive? Yes, all that too. With several different models having already been created and tested, Hybrid has shown that it can supply anything from the most economical of all subcompacts, to a sports car with the speed and acceleration of the world’s finest, high-end sports cars.

The electric car isn’t a fantasy any longer. The technology is here and Hybrid has brought it to us in a commonsense approach that can only make the world a better place. With all the “green initiatives” and concerns recently about ethanol production competing with food production, the “well done” electric car has finally come of age.
