With a middle-class Chinese population beginning to travel abroad, taking advantage of the financial possibilities can mean big profits. Which part of the traveling public a company wants to tap is the only question.
Smooth Global Holdings Inc., an international call forwarding telecommunications company offering services to The Peoples Republic of China, originally began operations as Bralorne Mining Company. Initially registered in Nevada, the company has since made a series of company additions, and name changes, that have positioned it as a leading provider of outbound call forwarding services to international Chinese Travelers.
The company’s original operational sales area was based in Shanghai, offering services primarily to Hong Kong and Taiwan. At the beginning of 2008, however, the company announced that it will sign new international call forwarding agent contracts with 8 providers in differing regions of China. Similar contracts are expected across China in coming years with the lucrative Beijing contract expected. Past year ending results for the Shanghai division generated revenue of $1.57 million by offering services to Hong Kong and Taiwan alone. The expectation, based on similarities of markets, is that the new contracts should generate similar results.
Although the company operates a fairly extensive pay phone business and set of telecommunication services in several Chinese cities, it is the international call forwarding business that will constitute to the majority of company growth going forward. Based on current and future trends of Chinese foreign travelers, the potential market for international call forwarding services is very large. This aspect of the company’s business, and telecommunications trends within China, bode well for a very stable growth curve into the future for Smooth Global Holdings Inc.
