PhytoMedical Technology Inc., an early stage development pharmaceutical company, works to locate, develop and commercialize higher level plants into pharmaceuticals. As the world’s old growth and rain forests continue to disappear, the company continues its search for commercial products that it can synthesize into commercial products. Tapping the number of possible plants that offer potential medical cures has just begun but shows great promise. Getting them to market, however, is another issue all together.
The company has shown some headway in its development of a cancer fighting product, and is positive about a diabetes product that is showing good results. Unfortunately, a development based company needs to show completed results. PhytoMedical has yet to offer success, only promising tests and development.
Finding and deciphering plant characteristics are perhaps some of the more difficult parts of the pharmacological process. Getting to market is just as difficult, especially when dealing with such a difficult area of development. In many respects, this type of work is just like gold mining. It takes quite a bit of cover to get to the prize. When the prize is found, however, the payoff can be big.
