Wyndgate Technologies®, a division of Global Med Technologies, has just signed a deal with Intermountain Healthcare to utilize Wyndgate’s SafeTrace Tx® transfusion management software. While the specific details of the agreement have not been disclosed, it is said to be a multi-million dollar account.
Intermountain Healthcare is Utah’s most predominant healthcare provider, serving patients in 21 of the region’s hospitals and employing more than 28,000 individuals. In a national study conducted annually by Modern Healthcare magazine, Intermountain has been ranked #1 for five of the last nine years. After a rigorous selection process, Intermountain opted for Wyndgate’s SafeTrace Tx®, in order to increase the efficiency and safety of its current blood management system.
Marc Probst, CIO and VP of Information Systems at Intermountain, stated, “Intermountain’s complex operations and technology infrastructure combined with the imperative for timely, high quality and reliable information, required that we align with a vendor capable of implementing transfusion management software into large, multi-hospital systems on a timely basis. Our research led us to Wyndgate Technologies and their SafeTrace Tx product. Their single database and Centralized Transfusion System (CTS) approach made them the logical choice for our organization.”
Global Med Technologies has been the clear choice for many transfusion centers in the U.S. and abroad. It is currently responsible for the management of more than 8 million blood components, or 27 percent of the current blood supply in the U.S.
