BC Contractors , a subsidiary of Becharof Corporation & Jacobs Engineering Group, Inc.(NYSE:JEC), has awarded General Environmental Management, a leading environmental and waste remediation company, two subcontracts valued at $2.5 million.
General Environmental Management is an integrated environmental service firm which provides field services, remediation, transportation, EHS compliance services, on-site technical services, and off-site treatment, all managed through their proprietary enterprise software, GEMWare. GEM assists its clients, including government entities, commercial and industrial clients, educational institutions, and other environmental service providers, in meeting regulatory requirements for the disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous wastes.
The first contract is for continuation of work previously performed, and the second is a new agreement awarded for environmental restoration activities in Alaska. According to the terms of the contracts, the company will perform on-site labor, transportation, and disposal of petroleum and PCB-contaminated soils from projects located in Kodiak.
“GEM is excited to expand our working relationship with Jacobs’ Native-owned partner, BC Contractors. We are confident that they will value our project management and logistics expertise, as we continue to provide value to our clients in remote sites,” commented Michael Gortner, GEM Northwest regional general manager.
