Gasco Energy, Inc. issued an operational update on the company’s exploration and development activities in the United States. The company is most active in the Uinta Basin of Utah where it is pursuing various producing oil and gas formations.
Gasco Energy recently reached total depth on two wells drilled into the Green River formation at the Riverbend Project in Utah. The company has a 100% working interest in both of these wells. Gasco Energy is targeting the Wasatch, Mesaverde, Blackhawk, Mancos, Dakota and Morrison formations on its properties here.
Gasco Energy said that both wells were drilled in five days and encountered oil pay in the Green River formation. The company is currently placing production casing in both wells and expects to begin completion operations in early 2012.
Gasco Energy received notice from the company’s partner on its California properties that the company intends to start drilling the first two wells at the Willow Springs Prospect. The partner is pursuing various formations in an anticline located near the McKittrick thrust fault. Gasco Energy, Inc. has a 20% working interest in the two wells at the Willow Springs prospect.
