First Liberty Power Corp. (FLPC.OB) is “One to Watch”

First Liberty Power Corp. is a Nevada based mineral exploration company that lists on the OTC Bulletin Board. The Company’s primary focus is lithium exploration and development in the United States. The Company is in a position to capitalize on the anticipated increase in demand for lithium carbonate, projected to result from the acceleration of the adoption and use of clean renewable energy products that utilize lithium-ion batteries.

Lithium is a soft, silver-white metal that belongs to the alkali metal group of chemical elements. Under standard conditions, it is the lightest metal and the least dense solid element. Lithium occurs in a number of pegmatitic minerals. It is also commonly obtained from brines and clays.

Lithium has a diverse range of end uses. Until recently, the primary categories have been glass and ceramics, aluminum alloy, and lubricants. First Liberty Power considers the Lithium Ion and Lithium Air battery market, primarily for hybrid and electric vehicles, as its target.

First Liberty Power Corp. holds the rights to an 84 claim, 12,800-acre property located in close proximity to the Lithium brine rich, Clayton Valley, Nevada. This is the Lida Valley Lithium prospect, which is strategically located in Esmeralda County, Nevada.

The property is close to the only Lithium brine producer in the United States. This plant extracts Lithium from brines pumped from aquifers below the valley and has been in production since 1967. The design of the plant is to produce 1.2 million kg of Lithium per year and to date has produced an estimated 50 million kg of Lithium.

First Liberty Power Corp.’s claims are within 15 miles of Montezuma peak, the source of the Lithium. The project area has excellent infrastructure including a network of roads, railroads, and cellular telephone coverage.

Recently, First Liberty Power Corp. announced that they paid $55,000 to initiate the second phase of the Company’s exploration program of their Lida Valley Lithium prospect. This second phase will consist of a controlled source audio magnetotellurics / magentotellurics (CSAMT/MT) survey. The CSAMT/MT survey will aid in determining if conductive zones, possibly indicative of lithium-bearing brines, are present and continuous within the basin. CSAMT/MT is an electronic (EM) geophysical method commonly used in the exploration industry.

Yesterday, First Liberty Power Corp. announced that they entered into an agreement to sell their Uravan Vanadium and Uranium Claim to a non-related party, New America Energy Corp.

Mr. Don Nicholson, President and CEO of First Liberty Power stated, “While we remain convinced of the strong merits of the Uravan property in Utah, we determined that it was in the best interest of the Company and its shareholders to focus all of our financial and time resources on the exploration and development of our lithium prospects, particularly given the recent entry into an LOI for an additional property.”
