As you probably already know by now, October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. A leading type of cancer among women, only second to lung cancer, much research is being done to discover a cure. It has been estimated that 25 deaths due to breast cancer occur each year for every 100,000 women in the United States. As a result of continued progress with cancer research, the breast cancer death rate has steadily decreased but no “magic bullet” currently exists.
This year we’re supporting the cause through a donation to the National Breast Cancer Foundation (www.nationalbreastcancer.org). This organization not only helps fund free mammograms for women who are unable to afford them, but also supports breast cancer research programs. We’ve also colored our website pink to spread awareness and are asking others to consider joining us to fight against the disease.
