Far East Energy, with its world HQ in Houston, TX and satellites in key locations in China, is rapidly emerging as a top oil and gas developer, and is currently focused on domestic and Chinese coal bed methane (CBM) targets. The Company reported today, in conjunction with aggressive plans to continue to develop and expand CBM activity in China, the retention of noted CBM industry expert David J. Minor, who has been appointed to Executive Director of Operations and will report directly to President and CEO Michael R. McElwrath.
McElwrath commented on the appointment and extolled the vast CBM experience David Minor brings to the FEEC team, noting in particular that his excellent credentials and established track record would be instrumental to advancing the Company’s operations at the Shouyang block in China. McElwrath underscored the comprehensive direct oversight on Alabama’s Black Warrior Basin, for which Minor is widely known, as being the perfect background for addressing FEECs concerns in Chinese CBM, especially at Shouyang.
Chairman of FEEC, Donald A. Juckett, welcomed Minor to the team and projected exciting developments as a result, highly anticipating the kind of revolutionary forward momentum such a man can bring to the Shouyang block and the Company’s Chinese energy development work in general.
Minor brings well over 30 years of experience to the table and has broad expertise in engineering and management, running the gamut from planning and drilling, to completion and production. Having spent the vast majority of his career doing management and technical supervision, Minor has even done top-level corporate management more recently and thus represents a heavy-hitter who can straddle the front line and get things done.
