Extreme Networks (EXTR) Wins Coveted ISO 9001:2000 Certification

Extreme Networks, Inc., provider of converged Ethernet networks, announced today that it has achieved the highly respected ISO 9001:2000 certification, in recognition of the company’s dedication to quality standards in the design and delivery of hardware and software solutions. The certification represents a successful culmination of a year-long effort by the company preparing for the independent ISO audit by TÜV SÜD America, a globally recognized testing, inspection, and certification organization.

Hermann Ries, Lead Auditor from TÜV SÜD America, detailed the reason for the approval recommendation. “Extreme Networks has demonstrated itself as an organization where the application of ISO 9001, throughout its headquarters and design centers, is focused on both improving business effectiveness and increasing efficiency. From the CEO and president and on down to all employees, there is a pervasive energy to deliver on the intent of the ISO requirements in their processes to make the business more capable at meeting increasing customer demands for excellence.”

Extreme Networks, based in Santa Clara, California, was founded on the idea of replacing costly and sluggish legacy networks with fast and efficient Ethernet systems using advanced network switching technologies. The company focuses on converged Ethernet networks that support data, voice, and video communication. Convergent networking, using a single infrastructure for multiple networking requirements, provides significant operational and maintenance cost savings, especially valuable when applied to the widely accepted Ethernet networking standard.

Extreme Networks now provides network infrastructure solutions to telecom service providers and enterprises in more than 50 countries around the world. The company provides a variety of networking related switching products, security products, operating systems, and management tools, including wired and wireless secure LANs, data center infrastructure, and Service Provider Ethernet transport solutions. Sales are made through distributors, resellers, and channel partners, as well as through company sales representatives and offices.
