Environmental Tectonics Corp. (ETCC.OB) Sets Delivery of Disaster Management Training Simulators for Saudi Arabian Civil Defense

Environmental Tectonics Corp.’s (ETC) Simulation Division has received acceptance for the delivery of three Advanced Disaster Management Simulators (ADMS) to the Saudi Arabian Civil Defense, stemming from an agreement secured in December 2008.

ADMS is a virtual reality simulation training stage that three training institutes in Saudi Arabia will use to train its first responders and emergency managers on all levels of response. The simulators are based on ETC’s signature technology, loaded with artificial intelligence, accurate animations, photo-realistic graphics, and ambient sounds.

“It is a pleasure to cooperate with the ADMS project team of the Riyadh Civil Defense Institute. ETC received positive feedback on our collaboration, and met the Saudi’s requirement for complete Command and Control-training. It was our first ADMS in the Arabic language. Now that the systems have been handed over, and instructors trained by ETC, staff at the three Civil Defense Institutes are ready to implement ADMS in the training curricula. In the meantime, we have started the design of the next three scenarios: high-rise building fire, collapsed building, and passenger train accident,” Marco van Wijngaarden, president of ETC stated in the press release.

Each of the training centers will offer an ADMS Incident Command team training simulator that will equip the Saudi Arabian Civil Defense with the tools and resources to train their staff on a variety of different disaster scenarios, such as a collapsed warehouse fire, a road traffic accident involving a tanker truck, and a multistory building fire. The company said that six additional scenarios will be provided over the course of the next several years.

To design a customized and efficient ADMS for the Saudi Arabian Civil Defense, the two entities worked side by side to ensure ADMS meets expectations and training requirements.
