Environmental Tectonics Corp. (ETCC.OB) Lands Simulator Contract

Environmental Tectonics Corp., a leader in training and simulation systems, today announced receipt of a contract to provide their Advanced Disaster Management Simulator (ADMS) to the El Paso International Airport. The El Paso Fire Department answers approximately 63,000 calls annually for the growing city of El Paso, Texas, the 22nd largest city in the U.S. The department is also responsible for airport fire protection involving passenger and commercial air travel as well as industrial and cargo activity. This covers aircraft firefighting and rescue, and essentially any disaster related to the 7,000 acre airport, in addition to their responsibilities for the rest of the city.

The ADMS will provide a unique and efficient training tool for the fire department as well as nearby police departments and emergency medical staff. The ADMS system can simulate multiple downed aircraft, a multi-story structural fire, a warehouse type fire, and even a hostage incident. It incorporates ARFF (Aircraft Rescue Firefighting) simulation, providing firefighters experience in using ARFF vehicles, including turret controls, the application of firefighting agents, and basic vehicle operation, driving, and positioning.

The Advanced Disaster Management Simulator integrates a sophisticated physics-based simulation, embedded artificial intelligence, accurate animations, photo-realistic graphics, and ambient sounds. The system provides a unique level of immersion, enabling first responders and emergency managers to train at all levels of response, in a safe, economical, and environmentally friendly way.

The Division Chief of Aviation, Javier Rubio, commented on the system. “ADMS is going to be that training tool that allows our fire department, local law enforcement, and airport to respond to and mitigate emergencies in a much more effective and efficient manner; we can’t wait to get started with training.”

Environmental Tectonics has been around for 40 years, and has made a substantial name for itself in the design, manufacture, and sale of advanced training and simulation systems and services, including flight simulation, driving and disaster simulation, and control systems.
