ENSERVCO Corp. (ENSV) Expands Presence in Niobrara Shale Region

ENSERVCO Corp. recently announced that it will be expanding its presence in the Niobrara shale region of the central United States, executing a lease on a new operations facility in Cheyenne, Wyoming. The growing workload in the Niobrara region is extending the company’s busy season.

ENSERVCO and its two subsidiaries, Heat Waves Hot Oil Service and Dillco Fluid Service, specialize in hot oiling, acidizing, frac heating and fluid management services. With a fleet of more than 200 specialized vehicles and related well-site equipment, ENSERVCO operates in Colorado, Kansas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Texas, Utah and Wyoming, becoming a publicly traded company in 2010 after merging with Aspen Exploration Corporation.

The Cheyenne facility will host a dozen other customers such as Exxon Mobil and Chesapeake, and is expected to be operational by August 1. These companies will be accelerating horizontal drilling operations, making large investments in leases, infrastructure and personnel. This is in response to growing demand in the northern portion of the Niobrara.

“This expansion parallels the geographic growth of our customers,” said Mike Herman, chairman and CEO. “Between our facilities in Greeley, Colo. and our new Cheyenne site, we have established a major presence in what is becoming one of the nation’s most active onshore exploration and production regions.”

Herman said, “Our growing workload in this region is significantly extending our busy season, as fluid heating needs in the northern Niobrara typically cover 10 months of the year. This is more than double the length of our heating season in the Marcellus Shale.”
