Crude oil price trends reversed on Friday as Hurricane Ike bore down on the Texas coast. Gas and crude both rose amid anxieties pertaining to the strength and path of the storm. As of 10 a.m. Friday morning, Ike was still classified as a Category 2 hurricane. Experts fear the similarities between the current course of this storm and one that struck Galveston, Texas in 1900, killing 8,000 people and going on record as the deadliest weather event in U.S. history.
