Emtec Federal (ETEC.OB) Receives $17 Million U.S. Air Force Award

Emtec Federal an information technology systems and solutions provider, has received a contract awarded by the Air Force Quarterly Enterprise Buy (QEB) program valued at more than $17 million. The contract is to provide approximately 70,000 Samsung 19-inch display monitors and 1,000 Lenovo Convertible PC Tablets. The contract also calls for Emtec Federal to manage staged deployments of the systems to agencies across all Air Force organizations worldwide under a series of delivery orders.

As briefly stated in the announcement, the QEB program enables the Air Force to centralize the purchase of common hardware and software products as part of an ongoing effort to streamline purchases and ensure system interoperability. The contract mandates that purchases of desktop and notebook computers be processed through the Air Force’s nine major commands, and that officials consolidate hardware buys using the AFWay online procurement system to obtain optimal pricing.

Emtec has been around for 40-plus years and has a proven track record in delivering best-in-class solutions while servicing the commercial, education, federal, state, and local government marketplaces with premier Information Technology (IT) solutions. The company will provide the same services to the Air Force that they have provided their other clients throughout the years; services which have enabled those clients to increase their efficiency, productivity and competitiveness.

Frank Blaul, Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Emtec Federal, stated, “This contract is a testament to the confidence that the Air Force has in our ability to deliver the products and services that best meet their needs around the globe. This is our first QEB award for the laptop line of business and we are excited to expand our product offerings to the Air Force, as well as extend our partnership with Lenovo.”
