eMagin Corp. (EMAN) Increases Production Capacity Through Automation

eMagin has achieved automation of its newest SNU OLED deposition machine, increasing capacity and improving its ability to manufacture OLED microdisplays. Testing of the displays produced by the new automated system will be completed in mid-September; after which, the displays will be ready for shipping.

eMagin is focused on producing OLED microdisplays, and is proficient in OLED microdisplay tech and mobile display systems. The company produces microdisplays equipped with magnification systems that allow portable, low-powered devices to achieve display imagery comparable to larger screen computers and televisions. eMagin produces displays for use in military, industrial, medical, and consumer markets.

eMagin’s new machine will improve overall quality in its OLED displays, in addition to promising a higher rate of production and more uptime (guaranteeing a higher yield). The machine will also require less maintenance. The new deposition machine is replacing the company’s older Satella production system, though the Satella system will continue to be utilized for R&D.

Andrew Sculley, president and CEO of eMagin, said, “Automated operation of our new state-of-the-art OLED deposition machine is a significant achievement by our team that will enable us to increase production and address the most demanding applications from the military, industrial, consumer and medical markets.”
