Elephant Talk Communications, Inc. announced today a Mobile Virtual Network Operating (MVNO) agreement with T-Mobile Netherlands BV. T-Mobile Netherlands BV is part of Deutsche Telekom AG, one of the world’s leading companies in communications. The Hosting Agreement is to service a new MVNO initiative of T-Mobile Netherlands on the Elephant Talk Mobile Virtual Network Enabling (MVNE) platform.
Through the agreement, T-Mobile will be providing new mobile services to Dutch consumers. Elephant Talk’s MVNE platform is a key component for T-Mobile to introduce these new services. With the agreement in place, T-Mobile will utilize the Elephant Talk technologies to increase functionalities and integrate new services without any hesitation or impact on the end user. All of the final details regarding the additional features and changes have not yet been released, but Mr. Bart Weijermars, CEO of T-Mobile Netherlands BV, was quoted as stating that the details “…will become available before the launch.”
Mr. Martin Zuurbier, CTO of Elephant Talk, was quoted in the press release as stating, “The relationship between T-Mobile and Elephant Talk goes back a long time, as our first Mobile Operator connection was completed with T-Mobile,” Mr. Zuurbier continued, “Our relationship has since grown into a successful partnership and we now have mutual confidence that our combined platforms will be able to support the exciting service offerings ready to be debuted by T-Mobile. Elephant Talk’s platform is distinctive as it supports both post-paid and prepaid mobile plans and we allow customers to migrate seamlessly. This ability of combining the current payment options needed an intelligent migration feature and we are pleased our platform was able to facilitate this on behalf of T-Mobile.”
Elephant Talk, an international provider of business software and services to the telecommunications and financial services industry recently released its year ending December 31, 2009 financial reports in which the company continued to grow financially. Revenues were up nearly $1.5 million over 2008 (per constant currency ratio) while cost of service expenses were increased by 0.6% due to higher levels of revenues. With customers such as T-Mobile and Vizzavi Espana, a Vodafone Group Company, Elephant expects that, “By the end of 2010 we expect to expand service offerings into at least two additional countries and manage at least 600,000 to 700,000 subscribers and expect to be cash-flow break even from operations by the end of 2010 on a monthly basis” as stated by Steven van der Velden, CEO of Elephant Talk.
