EDGAR Online, Inc has announced that the release of the next generation I-Metrix platform. This platform fully supports U.S. GAAP XBRL data tags, which improve the communication of business and performance data. EDGAR Online has already started implementing the use of the new XBRL system, with new corporate data being released through the XBRL Voluntary Filing Program in the near future.
Specifically, I-Metrix will allow companies a faster and more efficient method to submit XBRL data. EDGAR Online, partnering with RR Donnelley, created a system that allow companies to view existing financial statements when releasing new statements in an easy to read format.
