Dutton Associates Provides Active Research on Patriot Scientific Corp. (PTSC.OB), as Company Reports Sales of Intellectual Property Licenses to Nokia and Sharp

Patriot Scientific Corporation (PTSC.OB) reported recently that both Nokia and Sharp Corporation have purchased licenses that give them the rights to use technologies protected by the Moore Microprocessor Patent Portfolio (MMP Portfolio).

Patriot Scientific and the TPL Group are co-owners of the MMP Portfolio, which Alliacense, the TPL Group enterprise, exclusively manage. The Sharp license is the fourth license announced by Patriot Scientific so far in 2007 and Sharp is the sixteenth manufacturer to take advantage of the early-mover MMP licensing berths in specific industry segments since January 2006.

Alliacense again confirmed that subsequent licensees in segments where early tiers have been secured would be subject to progressively higher royalty rates on relevant products. Sharp Corporation, based in Japan, is a major producer of LCD TVs, color TVs, TV/VCR combos, LCD projectors, digital broadcast receivers, DVD recorders, DVD players, VCRs, 1-Bit digital audio products, MD players, CD component systems, MD pickups, facsimiles, phones, mobile phones, PHS phones, refrigerators, microwave ovens, superheated steam ovens, air conditioners, flash memories, combination memories, CCD/CMOS imagers, and LSIs for LCDs. In 2006, its revenue exceeded 2,800.0 billion Japanese yen.

Patriot Scientific and the TPL Group jointly own the MMP Portfolio that is managed by Alliacense. Alliacense has contacted approximately 400 possible infringers of the MMP Portfolio and is aggressively negotiating with additional possible infringers.

In 2006, Alliacense licensed Casio, Fujitsu, Hewlett Packard, Kenwood, SeikoEpson, Sony, Nikon, Olympus, Pentax, Schneider Electric, Lexmark International Inc., and Funai.
