Sofame Technologies, Inc. derives its name from the phrase, “Solutions for Achieving Maximum Eco-efficiency”. Sofame Technologies custom engineers and manufactures unique, high-efficiency direct-contact heat recovery equipment and hot water heating systems. These systems are often employed in industrial plants that use energy intensive boiler systems.
Sofame’s products extract up to 99% of heat from flue gases and wastewater, and return the energy in the form of high temperature hot water or pre-heated make-up air to the combustion process, making the process more energy efficient. In addition to improved efficiency, Sofame’s solutions help its clients reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Sofame was founded in 1984 by Luc Mandeville and Michel Dallaire.
In the last 20 years, Sofame has installed around 500 of its systems in the pulp and paper industry, the textiles industry, food processing facilities, hospital and university power plants. At this time, SOFAME holds 5 patents from the Canadian government and 4 patents from the US government.
