Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) Recognizes Sodexo (SDXAY.OB) for 6th Year Running

Sodexo has been recognized by the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) for the sixth time as the global leader for its industry segment, “Hotels, Restaurants, Bars & Recreational Services” for the year 2010-2011.

The Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) analysis is based on specific criteria including a company’s governance, risk management, environmental impact and social practices with regard to its suppliers and clients.

Scores were impressive for the solutions provider, coming in at 82% based on an assessment of its economic, social, and environmental performance. The average overall score for businesses in their sector was 56%. The survey also showed that employee engagement is up and that 85% of their employees feel that Sodexo is a better employer than the competition. Among the other individual scores, Sodexo received 86% for economic performance, 89% for environmental performance, and 77% for social performance; industry averages were 68%, 49%, and 52% respectively.

Sodexo has also been listed in the DJSI World and DJSI STOXX Indexes. The Group also has been included in the ECPI Ethical Index €uro since January 2009, the Covalence Index since January 2010 and the Ethibel Excellence Index since July 2010.
