Distributing Guilt-Free Cheeseburgers

I love cheeseburgers. It seems everyone does. The question for Natural Harmony Foods Inc. (Pink Sheets: NHYF) … Will everyone like the “hybrid” burger now available to consumers? I taste tested the product line and I must tell you that I enjoyed everything from the beef and pork patties to the breakfast sandwiches with cheese and egg on a muffin.

I knew I was going to write this article, so I pulled up the Web site (www.naturalharmonyfoods.com/) and found where I could go to buy them off the shelf. I drove directly to Kroger and loaded my cart with stuff to test on my friends and family. The cashier was looking at me oddly as I bought $142 worth of the SoLean brand. Needless to say, I turned the receipt in on my expense report. Product testing is the key to market awareness, and a viral effect can occur in places other than your computer. It occurs often in consumer goods.

The company traveled from Florida to Anaheim, California, in April to exhibit its SoLean product line at the world’s largest convention featuring natural, organic and healthy products. For four days attendees were given the opportunity to stop by Natural Harmony Food’s exhibit to sample its natural, hormone-free and soy meat products.

The SoLean cheeseburgers and breakfast sausage muffins were sampled by more than 500 attendees and were met with positive response. The company said a national rollout is underway as over seventy retailer and distributor leads were produced from the expo.

“In the two weeks since the show, we’ve begun shipping the leading natural foods distributor in the country and followed samples request from the country’s largest theme park company,” said the company.

Natural Harmony meats contain about half the calories and 75 percent less fat and saturated fat than “drive-thru” versions, without compromising taste. The SoLean line is the first natural, healthy sandwich alternative on the market.

I did my own market intelligence taste test and compared “off the Steve grill” in some cases and when I explained the health benefits of these products I had some interesting questions about where they could get the product, and I explained that it would soon be available in Whole Foods Market Inc. (Nasdaq: WFMI) and Wild Oats Market Inc. (Nasdaq: OATS), I received many looks of confirmation.

I’ve concluded that America wants to eat cheeseburgers; they just don’t want to feel guilty about it. Sam Dewar – CEO of Natural Harmony Foods – is not new to the game and may have finally solved the guilt puzzle. One thing I can tell you for sure is that he has solved the distribution puzzle because the product was at the four Kroger stores I went to and was prominently displayed.

Thank you Natural Harmony for making this product available at my local grocery. Now all I need is a similar product that looks and tastes like a beer
