DecisionPoint Systems, a provider and integrator of enterprise mobility and wireless applications, has launched a pilot program to develop and install a complete paperless mobile customer interface solution for Mission Linen Supply, a provider of rental products, services, and supplies for the hospitality, medical, and industrial markets.
The pilot program is part of a multi-phase, three-year contract under which DecisionPoint will provide Mission Linen with the appropriate wireless technologies that enable the company to automate and replace their current paper-based system to streamline and enhance all operations, including deliveries, invoicing, ordering, real-time communications, and customer support.
“This is the type of project that is a natural fit for all our core competencies, including mobile computing, empowering mobile workers and leveraging the expertise DecisionPoint has gained through our experience working in the mobile marketplace,” DecisionPoint CEO Nicholas R. Toms stated in the press release. “We are building a cross-platform development solution for the entire Mission Linen operation. In the end our program will give them all the tools to create a modern mobile workforce, plus the flexibility to build their operations in the future as they expand. We are excited about working for Mission Linen Supply and look forward to delivering the value our technologies offers them.”
This second phase of the program calls for Mission Supply drivers to be provided with a complete set of wireless hardware, including a hand-held mobile computer tablet with an Android operating system that been designed for heavy durability to accommodate for intensive fieldwork.
Karl Willig, president and CEO of Mission Linen, said the customized solution will result in fast and precise operations such as more accurate invoicing, better inventory control, better planning and dispatching, immediate wireless connectivity, and better real-time customer relations.
“Our goal is to improve our operations and deliver quicker, more accurate and less time- consuming products and services to all our clients throughout the Southwestern region of the U.S.,” Willig said. “We are proud of our thorough customer service orientation, and we believe the wireless, paperless DecisionPoint system will help us achieve these goals. We selected DecisionPoint because we were impressed with the products and services they have created for other route-based businesses.”
