Cord Blood America announced today that Jack Goldberg, M.D. will serve as the Chairman of its Medical Advisory Board. Dr. Goldberg served as a medical director previously at CoreCell, which is now a subsidiary of Cord Blood America. He also serves as Chief of the Division of Hematology and Oncology at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, University of Pennsylvania Health System.
Dr. Goldberg has an impressive resume. His primary accomplishment is being the first doctor to report that he had successfully transplanted a patient’s umbilical cord blood into her own blood stream. He also appeared on “Good Morning America” to discuss the importance of umbilical cord blood banking.
He received his medical training at the State University of New York (SUNY) Health Science Center. After completing an internship he received, Dr. Goldberg returned to the University to study hematology and medical oncology. He was soon promoted as an associated professor, and was granted the opportunity to actively conduct research on hematopoiesis and disorders of the blood.
