Cord Blood America, Inc., a facilitator of umbilical cord blood stem cell preservation focused on bringing the life saving potential of stem cells to families around the world, recently announced the appointment of Shamoon Ahmad, MD, as the new medical director of the company’s medical advisory board.
Currently acting as the director of the Cancer Therapy & Integrative Medicine Institute in Las Vegas, Nevada, Mr. Ahmad also serves as president of the Nevada Oncology Society and is an associate professor at the Touro University School of Medicine in Las Vegas. After finishing his fellowship in hematology, medical oncology and bone marrow transplantation at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York, Mr. Ahmad completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Seton Hall University.
Matthew Schissler, co-founder and chief executive officer of Cord Blood America, stated, “Our Medical Board serves to ensure the quality of our program and guides the company on medical issues, compliance and training.” Mr. Schissler continued, “We are delighted to have such an experienced, talented physician as Dr. Ahmad overseeing our efforts.”
