Communicate.com, Inc., a company that builds, owns and operates some of the most powerful and engaging content and commerce destinations on the Internet, announced a potential name change to Live Current Media, Inc. pending agreement from its shareholders. Live Current intends to turn its notable set of first-class properties into independent booming businesses, evidenced by its first move on March 26th, when it entered into a definitive agreement to obtain Auctomatic, an early stage start-up founded by Y Combinator LLC and other investors. Auctomatic has developed commerce technology and tools that allow sellers to effortlessly transact business online through sites such as eBay. The planned attainment is subject to the usual closing circumstances and is anticipated to conclude in May of this year.
Geoffrey Hampson, Live Current CEO said, “Live Current’s property combined with the foundational capabilities Auctomatic brings to the company enables us to deliver on our strategy of providing the next evolution of consumer Internet experiences. We own some of the most popular names on the Internet which we will turn into destination sites for consumers globally.”
The pending acquisition of Auctomatic is an opening for Live Current to swiftly develop its technology and product growth capabilities, including social and widget network experience as well as entrepreneurial-mindedness that coalesce with Live Current’s new identity. Live Current will apply Auctomatic’s commerce technology to Perfume.com and other commerce destinations. All individuals from Auctomatic will be joining Live Current in connection with the proposed acquisition, including founders Kulveer Taggar, Harjeet Taggar and Patrick Collison.
