Things are jumping for CoMedia Corporation. Not only did the company recently merge with a private entertainment marketing company, it also announced intentions of creating an online social networking portal to reach millions of people and are now looking to move to the OTCBB as soon as possible.
“Things are starting to pop for us a little bit,” CoMedia President Steve White said in a recent interview with MN1.
The CoMedia entity – still listed under the stock symbol SPNI at this time – is a relatively new addition to Pink Sheets. Originally listed as Sports Alumni Inc., the company merged with entertainment marketing firm Diversified Entertainment Properties Inc. in April 2007. Since then, the company’s been busy; it has set up a new Web site at www.thecomediacorp.com to “create and raise awareness about the opportunities that exist in all of our target markets,” according to White.
“First and foremost, we’re making a concerted effort to get ourselves together,” White said. “The merger allows us to greatly improve our business model and allows us to vertically integrate into the markets and pick up profit centers we couldn’t get ourselves.”
Right now, the company has some big plans. CoMedia develops intellectual properties to use on company-owned media platforms, creating products and services and using their distribution channels to reach their rapidly expanding target markets, particularly “sports-centric males” in the 24 to 55 age group.
While White said he couldn’t release too much information at this time, he did say that CoMedia will find a niche with “the needs in the market that aren’t being met,” and that the recent merger will make it easier for the company to take advantage of these needs.
At this point, White isn’t sure when CoMedia will be listed on the boards.
“That is a question that has been a moving target for everybody in the small cap world lately,” said White. “We’re doing everything we can as quickly as possible. We believe we’re placed to do that as swiftly as the powers that be let us.”
White has high hopes for CoMedia and plans on releasing further information about the company’s business plan and events in the near future.
“Everybody should keep their eyes open – there’s going to be a lot of good information coming out that’ll explain our business model,” White said.
