Coates International Ltd. (OTCBB: COTE) today announced it has launched initiatives for a “go-to-market” strategy to give the North American trucking industry accessibility to facilities designed to retrofit existing truck engines with its Coates Spherical Rotary Valve Engine (CSRV) technology.
Aside from the obvious hindrance of unbelievably high diesel fuel prices, the trucking industry faces new and prospective regulations and legislation aimed at reducing harmful emissions. According to Coates, these factors are spurring interest in its CSRV technology, which enhances fuel consumption and reduces harmful emissions as well as equipment downtime.
The company is currently in discussions with major diesel and biodiesel suppliers that recognize Coates’ technology as a cost-cutting solution. The suppliers are interested in retrofitting as many as 19,000 trucks for major distributors such as Coca-Cola within Mexico.
The Coates CSRV 855 c.i. Industrial Engine powers the Coates Electric Power Generators, to be distributed under the U.S. and Canadian Licensing agreements with Well to Wire Energy Inc. The requirements for the heavy trucking industry regarding internal combustions engines, and the technology for the CSRV 855 c.i. coincide; as an initial step toward its marketing strategy, Coates has authorized WWE to retrofit up to 10 18-wheeler, tractor-trailer heavy trucks.
The company said it believes its internal combustion engine technology leverages its competitive advantage and market penetration.
