Clean Wind Energy Tower, Inc. (CWET) Receives Patent for Solution to Capture and Use Available Wind Tunnel Energy

Clean Wind Energy Tower, a wholly owned subsidiary of Clean Wind Energy, today announced the publishing of its patent titled Efficient Energy Conversion Devices & Methods by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

CWET’s Downdraft Towers use non-toxic natural elements to generate electricity and water. Today’s announced patent covers specific aspects of the company’s deployment of multiple turbines in a wind tunnel coupled with a novel hydraulic system designed to provide consistent power output despite a variance of wind speeds.

The company said the coverage is a “Core Patent” that provides a substantial barrier against potential competitors, which is complementary to its stated mission of becoming a leading provider of green energy.

“Our innovative solution of extracting the maximum energy generated by the captured wind, with the least loss of power throughout the transmission cycle from capture to exhaust, produces a much more consistent level of power output while compensating for the normal differentials in atmospheric conditions over any given period, and should coincide with our customers’ requirements. The technological concepts and applications claimed and embodied within this patent provide significant benefits toward enhancing the level of efficient power generation, as well as reducing operational costs,” Ronald W. Pickett, president and CEO of CWET previously stated.

In its current design, CWET said it expects that each Downdraft Tower will have the capacity to generate up to 1,200 megawatts per hour of salable electricity to the grid.
