Earlier this year Challenger Powerboat listed its initiative for 2008 and one of those goals included achieving a year-over-year total revenue growth of at least 100%, while improving gross margins to achieve or exceed the industry average as well as achieve net profitability for the year.
The company is making strides to meet those goal and has announced today that they have received an initial 4 boat order and then a follow-up on a 10 boat order from Shawano, WI – based American Marine and Watersports, one of the largest independent boat dealers in the U.S.
Challenger CEO Laurie Phillips stated, “Procuring ‘tier one’ dealers of American Marine’s stature is important to our overall growth strategy given the potential degree of business which exists, upon our execution, delivery and performance to such high volume customers. We look forward to a long and rewarding relationship with them.”
Another 2008 initiative was to unveil the 36 foot Challenger-Pininfarina special edition performance prototype at the Miami Boat Show. Last week the company debuted the fully loaded sleek vessel with its cabin outfitted with the latest Cantalupi LED RGB adjustable indirect lighting controlled by touch screen, flat screen TV, DVD and iPod ready sound system, a bar complete with sink/refrigerator and Dock Side air-conditioning, finished with luxe Pininfarina styled upholstery. This new boat also reaches a top speed of 90-95 MPH.
The company has also developed an aggressive marketing and sales strategy, and due to those efforts, they are experiencing record demand for its other line of boats and shipped a record 38 boats for the month of January.
Challenger Powerboats was founded in 1995 to design and manufacture high performance ‘go fast’ offshore racing boats, family sport cruisers, jet boats and water ski tow boats under the brands ‘Challenger Powerboats’, ‘Sugar Sand’ and ‘Gekko’, which target the recreational boating market in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Europe, Australia, the Middle East and Japan.
