Cavico Corp. (CVIC.OB) Announces Two Construction Projects to Assist in Hydropower Expansion

Cavico Corp. focuses on large infrastructure projects and construction, as well as urban developments, in Vietnam. The company recently issued a press release announcing two contracts, both of which have valued revenues of $1.4 million.

The company’s first announcement centers on its wholly owned subsidiary Cavico Transport Construction JSC, which has inked a deal with Dakdrinh Hydropower Joint Stock Company for overburden stripping and stone processing of Dakdrinh’s hydropower plant in Quang Ngai province.

Per the agreement, the first phase of the project is the extraction of 700,000 cubic meters of stone within a five-month period. The stones will then be processed and used for construction purposes and is expected to be completed at the end of 2013.

Cavico also announced it has signed a bridge construction contract with the Rehabilitation Management Unit of Son La Hydropower plant in which Cavico will construct four bridges in the Son La province. This project is expected to be completed within 23 months.
