California Gold Corp. (CLGL) Provides Update on Mining Operations in Mexico

California Gold issued an operational update on its recent mining activities in Mexico, where the company has been developing an exploration program on properties prospective for gold and other minerals.

California Gold plans to begin exploratory drilling at the AuroTellurio Project in April 2012. This project is located in Sonora, Mexico, near the city of Hermosillo, and is near to productive mines operated by other companies.

California Gold said that the exploratory drilling program will consist of six core holes on the property, totaling 3,000 meters. The company has analyzed two recent geological surveys to find three prospective areas at the AuroTellurio Project.

California Gold is targeting gold, silver, and tellurium at the AuroTellurio Project. Tellurium is used by the power industry in the manufacturing of solar panels.

The main target of the exploratory drilling program at the project is an oval shaped deposit approximately 5 by 2.5 kilometers in size. The company has narrowed down its target area to an intrusive area that is 800 meters to 1,400 meters in size.

California Gold plans to drill two exploratory holes at the first target site. The holes will be drilled to a depth of 700 meters and are located within one mile of each other.
