In a statement given Friday, President Bush said that he is confident in the rescue plan, but that it would need time to take effect. Even as stock markets experienced continued hardship, he stated: “We can solve this crisis and we will.” The President went on to express hope that through a joint worldwide effort, stabilization could be achieved. He plans to meet with financial leaders from the U.S., Japan, Britain, Germany, France Italy and Canada this Saturday, in order to further coordinate global efforts.
