BWI (Pink Sheets:BDWT), Calgary area’s largest local roll-off waste hauling company, finalized the merger agreement for the acquisition of Kosland Waste Removal Ltd. (KOSLAND), one of the largest rural residential waste collection company in the Calgary area. KOSLAND has specialized in rural residential collection and lead the Calgary and area market for over 12 years.
The merger, effective March 1, 2006, doubles the BWI vehicle fleet, provides for a 50% increases to the BWI roll-off bin fleet and a ten fold increase in the BWI rural residential waste collection client base. This acquisition places BWI in a strong position with respect to rural residential collection and increases the BWI share of the roll-off bin market.
The acquisition of KOSLAND marks the completion of the first merger associated with the BWI strategic direction. As part of their growth through acquisition initiative, BWI is currently in negotiations with numerous merger opportunities.
