Today after the closing bell, Budget Center Inc. announced that the company’s travel website www.budgethotels.com signed a formal “white paper affiliate” agreement with Hotels Combined Pty Ltd. of Sydney, Australia.
Accordingly, Budget Center launched the new online travel website on Dec. 27, 2009 in partnership with the industry giant. The travel website now has the ability to connect users with more than 900,000 global hotel deals from over 30 merchants, delivering the “Budget” brand to thousands of customers worldwide. Travelers from all over the world will now be able to find the best travel deals delivered in 14 languages and 118 currencies.
The new website also features XML feeds and a “set your own budget” functionality that allows customers to chose their own price for their vacation and automatically receive information on the best travel deals that fit the budget they entered.
President and CEO Bob Chalmers stated, “As promised we are moving ahead aggressively on our plans to build out our Budget brand and owned URLs. We are very excited about the launching of our new www.budgethotels.com portal and the potential for significant revenues represented by this development.”
The growing online travel market is projected to reach $140 billion by 2010. While the company recognizes that this market will likely be adversely impacted by the current economic conditions, it also believes that businesses offering budget services stand to benefit from these same conditions.
