Biomoda, Inc (BMOD.OB) announced that the company has elected Dr. Stephen M. Gomez to serve as a Senior Research Specialist. Dr. Gomez will be focused on the company’s efforts to commercialize their assay for the early detection of lung cancer.
Recently, Dr. Gomez was employed by Lovelace Respiratory Research Institute in Albuquerque as a Research Scientist. Dr. Gomez also served as an instructor of genetics at the University of New Mexico and as a consultant to national scientific laboratories.
John Cousins, President of Biomoda, commented, “Dr. Gomez’s experience and expertise in molecular, cell and development biology is of particular importance and use at Biomoda where we have developed a mechanism that preferentially binds to cancer cells and glows red under a microscope for easy and accurate detection of cancer. Dr. Gomez was awarded a Masters of Biology by the University of California. Dr. Gomez also received his Ph.D. in Molecular, Cell and Development Biology from the same institution.
