Biomoda Inc., a cancer diagnostics company, today announced that over the next two weeks CEO Maria Zannes and talk show host Stu Taylor will interview lung cancer survivors on a series of nationally syndicated business radio talk shows. The interviews will discuss Biomoda’s technology and funding for lung cancer research, as well as the importance of early detection.
The statistics of lung cancer deaths in the United States is staggering; in a press release, Zannes noted the importance for continued search for advanced and innovative technologies to battle lung cancer, and her confidence in her company to do so.
“Lung cancer kills nearly 600,000 Americans each year – more than breast, prostate, colon and pancreatic cancers combined. We can change those statistics. The stories of these pioneering individuals give us hope, and their message is clear. Physicians need better tools to fight this deadly disease,” Zannes stated. “We are calling upon everyone to support research and development, particularly given that more than 60 percent of new cases are diagnosed in people who never smoked or who quit years ago.”
Biomoda President John Cousins said the broadcasts reflect the need for an inexpensive, non-invasive, accurate and easy-to-use diagnostic like Biomoda’s CyPath® assay, which is based on Biomoda’s patent estate centered on molecular marker technology initially developed at the Los Alamos National Laboratory.
