BIO-key International, Inc., a global leader in fingerprint biometric identification solutions and advanced mobile identification technology, announced that the U.S. Patent office has granted a patent for their fingerprint software algorithms that utilize directional fields to more effectively and completely process, enhance and identify fingerprints.
The software determines the direction of ridges in the fingerprints thus making the segments easier to analyze for quality, create computer models from and map to detect and correct missing or incorrect information. The patent gives the company true ownership of this algorithm technology.
