AVT announced today that it has teamed up with Automated Express Propane, Inc. to launch a pilot program for its self-service propane purchase and exchange kiosk. The pilot program is designed to test consumer acceptance and favorability of the kiosk.

AVT’s new system will allow Automated Express customers to purchase or exchange a 5-gallon propane tank quickly and easily. Consumers simply have to swipe a credit card to activate a touchscreen. After a few moments of selecting the desired products, a door opens and presents brand new tank available for pick up.
The beauty of AVT’s kiosk technology is that no store employees are needed, there’s no waiting and no delays. The consumer-friendly systems are being placed in select markets beginning next month.
Illingworth continued, “The old fashioned method of chaining or locking up tanks and making a customer hunt down a store employee…will rapidly evaporate as our new, clean, convenient system spreads across the nation.”
