Anywhere MD (ANWM.PK) Offers Charting, Well … Anywhere

Although it first found a home in the offices of chiropractors, Anywhere MD’s (Pink Sheets: ANWM) technology is now getting a good, long look from other medical professionals searching for a way to review a patient’s information and make a diagnosis in a more efficient way.

The company’s Auto-DOC software allows doctors to enter and view patient data from the treatment room, or even from the road, via PDA. The company first began working in the healthcare information technology market about 13 years ago, and after introducing the mobile EMR for chiropractors, began looking for a way to get other doctors interested as well.

Taking patient documentation mobile, the company says, can eliminate the paper trail, and can also help with making sure diagnosing patients is accurate.

“These mobile applications provide the physician with the most recent and accurate healthcare information at the ‘Point Of Care,'” the company said in a statement. “This technology eliminates a confusing and tedious ‘paper trail’ that can lead to inaccurate and inadequate patient charting, resulting in malpractice suits and poor patient care.”

Anywhere MD CEO Steve Hixson says that while technology changes daily, the technology that goes with documenting patient care has not.

“As we have stated before, technology revolutions over the last 20 years has reduced costs and improved quality in nearly every industry — with one notable and glaring exception — the $1.6 trillion U.S. healthcare industry,” Hixson said in a statement.

The company has taken pains to get the word out through targeted advertising campaigns.

“Anywhere MD spends thousands of dollars each month advertising in the most accredited medical journals,” Hixson said. “These advertisements generate a tremendous call volume on the company’s toll-free number, which is closely screened for quality control reasons.”

Has it worked?

“Our new advertising programs along with increased marketing campaigns have exceeded all possible expectations. Referrals from existing customers are up over 200 percent and climbing,” Hixson said. “The company is currently expanding its sales and technical departments to accommodate this dramatic growth.”
